The Retrofit Academy CIC, a leading provider of domestic retrofit training and advice, has been announced as a finalist for the Small Business of the Year category at the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards.

The category is proudly sponsored by Sempar Accountancy and Tax.

Since its establishment in 2016, Retrofit Academy has experienced remarkable growth, both in financial terms and in its impact on the community. From its inception offering a single CPD course, the Academy has expanded to include eight Ofqual regulated qualifications, four further CPD courses, and a membership organisation with over 1,300 members.

The team has grown from three employees to 35, and revenue has more than quadrupled since 2020.

Central to Retrofit Academy’s success has been the leadership and commitment of David Pierpoint, recognised as the Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2022. David’s expertise in sustainable construction and retrofit skills has propelled the Academy to the forefront of the industry, with initiatives ranging from developing new training products to establishing partnerships with government agencies and industry stakeholders.

In addition to its commitment to innovation and excellence, Retrofit Academy places a strong emphasis on staff development and training. The Academy’s People Strategy focuses on attracting, developing, and retaining talent, with employees benefiting from a wide range of training programs and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The winner of the award will be announced at the highly-anticipated Gala Awards evening, taking place on Thursday, 4 July at the Doubletree by Hilton, Festival Park.
