Water Plus, the largest business retailer in the UK, has been named as a finalist in the Responsible Business category at the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards.
Sponsored by Rydale Roofing, this category recognises businesses that are ethical and responsible in their practices, and has a positive impact on their region.
Water Plus has taken proactive steps to support environmental action. Since March 2022, they have implemented a robust environmental approach focused on reducing carbon emissions and promoting greener practices among employees.
Their efforts include initiatives such as removing office printers, transitioning to energy-efficient lighting, and launching electric car and Cycle to Work schemes. They have also supported initiatives like the NHS Forest and partnered with organisations like the Scottish Association for Marine Science and Seawilding.
Water Plus has collaborated with educational institutions, welcoming over 160 pupils for career workshops and water-saving lessons. They have also engaged in extensive charity work, supporting the local charity Pink Sisters & Misters by raising money for a new minibus for cancer patients and creating care packs.
The winner of the award will be announced at the highly-anticipated Gala Awards evening, taking place on Thursday, 4 July at the Doubletree by Hilton, Festival Park.
