A national training provider which has spent a six-figure sum on a new head office in Stoke-on-Trent has confirmed a significant jobs boost too.
Last month, Daily Focus reported that Acorn Training had invested £348,000 in establishing its HQ and training centre at Picadilly Arcade in Hanley.
Now the company has confirmed the move from Tunstall to the three-storey city centre premises has seen its team increase to 34 employees – which means 11 new roles have been created since the purchase of the site.
It adds to the successful expansion of the award-winning provider, which was founded in Stoke-on-Trent and now has nine other centres across the Midlands and North West, including Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Leek, Burton and Manchester.
The company will deliver comprehensive adult learning courses from the Hanley Training Centre, providing online and classroom-based teaching to help individuals to develop their skills for both life and work. Fully-funded courses include retail, warehousing, IT, and ESOL (English for Speakers of other languages).
It will also support and break down barriers for those battling mental and physical health conditions, people from disadvantaged backgrounds, ex-offenders and groups such as the LGBTQ+ community and participants who are on the RESTART Scheme.
Acorn has said that it aims it to play a vital role in boosting the local economy and to have a positive impacts on businesses and individuals.
A spokesperson added: “We can confirm that 34 employees now make up the team based at the HQ. This means we have also created 11 new roles in the business since we purchased the site at Hanley.”
