Funding round-up: The current opportunities for Staffordshire businesses

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce has shared a convenient funding round-up that lists a range of the current grant and training opportunities that are available to businesses across the county.

Included in the list is a 0% start-up loan, the hugely-popular Michelin Development Fund and Achieve and Grow – an opportunity for microbusiness owners to boost their marketing, HR and website.

  • The Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Skills Hub is actively seeking local businesses that are looking to upskill their workforce with a range of free services including training need analysis, apprenticeship support and grant funding.
  • Green Solutions is a programme that offers support to businesses looking to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Businesses can access free energy assessments, low carbon grants and carbon literacy training.
  • Staffordshire Moorlands To Thrive grants, ranging from  £2,000 to £5,000, are available for costs associated with the implementation of plans to achieve business growth. This can include the purchase of equipment, website design or a business strategy review.
  • 0% Start-Up loans of between £3,000 to £5,000 are available for Staffordshire businesses that have been trading for two years to help get them off the ground.
  • Cannock Chase businesses can apply for two fully-funded Staffordshire University programmes. The Go Digital Accelerator is a 16-week programme designed to boost productivity, high-value jobs and innovation for businesses based in the Cannock Chase District. The Net Zero Pathfinder is designed for businesses looking to implement a Net Zero plan aligned with Net Zero commitments in the Cannock Chase District.
  • The Michelin Development Fund offers low-cost loans of up to £100,000 to eligible SMEs in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Staffordshire Moorlands. An unsecured, subsidised loan of up £100,000 is available for organisations and companies with the potential to create high-quality, sustainable jobs, which could be used for purchase of capital equipment, process improvement, working capital and marketing – to name but a few.
  • Achieve and Grow offers microbusiness owners the opportunity to boost their marketing, HR and websites through fully-funded support tailored specifically for your organisation.
