Four site managers from Bloor Homes’ Midlands region based in Tamworth are celebrating each receiving a top housing industry award.
Considered the Oscars of the house-building industry and the benchmark for exceptional site managers, the Pride in the Job 2024 Quality Award is given by the NHBC, the UK’s largest provider of new home warranties and insurance.
Roger Howgill, Danny Easton, Nick Schofield and Ronnie Davenport from Bloor Homes in the Midlands are amongst 28 site managers working for the firm across the country who won an award this year, a record number for the developer.
They will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and in regional awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2025.
“Winning a Pride in the Job Quality Award is a fantastic achievement,” said Paul Degg, Managing Director for the region. “We are looking forward to seeing how Roger, Danny, Nick and Ronnie progress in the rest of the competition.”
Commenting on the awards, Steve Wood, CEO at NHBC, said: “Winning site managers demonstrate dedication, passion and leadership to ensure new homes are delivered to exacting construction quality standards.
“While house building is a team effort, we believe the greatest influence on the quality of a finished home is the calibre of the site manager and the way they inspire their team. Congratulations to all the winners.”
In total, 449 site managers were named in this year’s awards across 8,000 sites.
- Burntwood-based Cameron Homes has also seen one of its site managers receive a Pride in the Job Quality Award. Matthew Williams, whose role entails overseeing Cameron Homes’ Sutton Park Grange development in Kidderminster, has described the achievement as a “huge accomplishment”. He added: “It’s something I’ve been striving for and wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible team that work alongside me to ensure every home we build meets the Cameron quality standard. This award is a true recognition of the team’s dedication to safe sites and quality-built homes.”
