Funding opportunities to boost business growth across Staffordshire

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce has shared a convenient funding round-up that lists seven of the current grant and training opportunities that are available to businesses across the county.

Included in the list is a 0% start-up loan, the hugely-popular Michelin Development Fund and FLOURISH – an opportunity for SMEs, community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Newcastle-under-Lyme

  • Stafford Business Innovation Grants – Grants of between £10,000 and £25,000 are available to support businesses in Stafford who have plans to develop new products and services. A match fund of 20% will be required.
  • 0% Start-Up loans of between £3,000 to £5,000 are available for Staffordshire businesses that have been trading for two years to help get them off the ground.
  • FLOURISH – SMEs, community groups, and not-for-profit organisations in Newcastle-under-Lyme are able to benefit from Keele University’s student and graduate talent to deliver an agreed, fully-funded, 100 hour project or piece of work to assist and improve the competitiveness of the business.
  • East Stafford Retail Ready Bootcamps – grow your business alongside other entrepreneurs from East Staffordshire by joining weekly one-hour virtual sessions in this free five-week bootcamp. Plus, one bootcamp attendee will be selected to win a £500 grant to help grow their business.
  • The Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Skills Hub is actively seeking local businesses that are looking to upskill their workforce with a range of free services including training need analysis, apprenticeship support and grant funding.
  • Green Solutions Low Carbon Grant – Opportunity to apply for grants of between £1,000 and £100,000 (covering up to 50% of eligible costs) is available per business to implement recommendations from your Energy Assessment.
  • The Michelin Development Fund offers low-cost loans of up to £100,000 to eligible SMEs in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Staffordshire Moorlands. The loan is available to organisations that have the potential to create high-quality, sustainable jobs, and can be used for a range of things including the purchase of capital equipment, process improvement, working capital and marketing.
