Stoke-on-Trent-based Portmeirion Group has appointed a new group finance director.
Jonathan Hill has joined the company – an owner, designer, manufacturer and omni-channel retailer of homeware brands – and his appointment as group finance director will take effect from 1 October.
He will replace David Sproston who is stepping down from the role to pursue new opportunities following 16 years with the group and five years on the board.
Dick Steele, Non-Executive Chairman, said: “We would like to thank David for his valuable contribution to the Group and wish him well in the next stage of his career.
“He has played an important role in the Group’s significant progress and growth over the last 16 years.
“We welcome Jonathan to our business and are excited about the wealth of experience he brings from working across international markets – a key part of our long term growth strategy.”
During his time as Group Finance Director, David has played a valuable role in leading the finance function of the Group through a number of acquisitions, navigating the business through the challenges of Covid and a successful investor fundraising programme.
He formally leaves the Board with effect from 30 September but will be assisting the Group handover until 31 December.
Jonathan, a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of finance and leadership experience across multiple industry sectors, has spent time living abroad heading up international finance teams and supporting sales market development.
He has worked with major consumer goods brands such as Umbro and has European and UK manufacturing experience at Ideal Standard and Cormar Carpets.
