A new strategic partnership has been launched to improve the borough of Tamworth and the quality of life for residents.
The Tamworth Strategic Partnership aims to share ideas, facilitate support and welfare for the community and work more co-operatively for the people of the town.
It brings together representatives from health and social care, Staffordshire police, fire and rescue, public health partners and faith and voluntary groups, who met for the partnership’s first meeting earlier this month.
During the meeting, Tamworth Borough Council shared common goals and emerging priorities, plus feedback from the recent corporate plan consultation, where residents have brought up much wider issues than the council can tackle alone.
Council Leader Carol Dean said: “The event launched the beginning of a new collaboration with all local services to build a better Tamworth.
“While we already work in partnership with these agencies, this is a first step in working even more co-operatively for the people of Tamworth. We recognise there are many people in our communities that need support, and by working better together we can really use all our resources where they are needed most.
“This alliance as the Tamworth Strategic Partnership will draw on the experience and resource from partners best placed to deliver services and support. Together we are stronger and together we can provide help at early stages for everyone.”
