Truck parking site teams up with fleet maintenance leader to expand service for UK’s transport and haulage companies

A Stoke-on-Trent truck parking site – which has been recognised for its continued efforts to support driver welfare – is helping to serve major blue-chip companies throughout the UK following a collaboration with a local transport company.

ADS Truck Parking has been assisting maintenance experts Vehicle Technical Services (VTS) with large scale MOT truck washes since July.

The relationship between the two means that more vehicles, including 7.5 tonne trucks, can receive a thorough wash at the ADS Longton site before returning to the Newcastle-under-Lyme base for MOTs at VTS.

“It is really crucial that trucks of all sizes undergo regular washes – including before MOT assessments,” said ADS Truck Parking owner Andrew Sargent.

“Trucks collect masses of dirt from the roads especially with the hundreds of miles some do each day or week, therefore to retain a good commercial image, as well as maintaining hygiene space for the trucks load – they need a good clean.

“We have a brand-new facility at ADS which can cater for more than 30 truck washes a week, and to now be working with VTS to ensure more blue-chip companies are receiving a thorough quality service is great. We are also thrilled to have this collaboration in our home City.”

David Rushton, Service Co-ordinator at VTS said: “Whilst we do so many steam washes ourselves it has been great to be able to find someone in the local area who we can work with, and trust, in providing extra truck washes.

“We have a lot of blue-chip companies as our clients and the service we have had from ADS has been incredible – nothing is too big and they are very customer focused with everything they do.

“Whenever we ask for something to be done it is done straight away and that’s what you need for a top-class service. It’s great to be working with them and helping each other.”

In April this year ADS Truck Parking received praise for the top-quality driver welfare facilities it has installed with support from a £225,500 grant which was received in 2023 from the Department of Transport’s HGV Parking and Driver Welfare Grant Scheme.

As well as the truck wash facilities, brand new toilets, a large cafe area with outside seating, shop, social area and a training room were installed.

In July, ADS were also announced as finalists in the High Street Impact category in the Staffordshire University Business Awards. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony tomorrow, 5 September.
