A document management company has opened a brand new £1.25 million warehousing facility as part of its ambitious growth plans.

Chaffinch has invested heavily in the 4,200 sq ft facility in Stoke-on-Trent to enhance its capabilities.

The development makes up the bulk of an investment in the site totalling more than £1.6 million since the business bought the Ellgreave Street site, in Middleport, in 2018.

This includes the complete refurbishment of Chaffinch’s headquarters, which is co-located on the same site.

The company, founded in 2011, specialises in digital transformation and employs 21 people including two newly-created positions in the warehouse facility.

It is targeting 20 to 30 per cent year on year growth, which will be highly driven by demand for digital and AI data processing solutions.

Chief Executive Officer Alastair Machin said: “Since I launched the company 13 years ago, we have continued to expand our team and services.

“Our new warehouse facility is an integral part of our ongoing expansion plans. “Importantly, this initiative goes beyond our business; it’s about contributing to the regeneration of a region that has faced significant challenges in the wake of post-industrial decline. As a local resident, this mission holds great personal significance for me.”

Chaffinch, a single-source provider of document management, automation, and enterprise software solutions, also has a scanning operations facility based in Brownhills, Walsall.

Other aims include growing its UK-distribution partnership with Klippa, a Dutch-based AI document processing software platform.

Alastair added: “Chaffinch is a modern, dynamic company with ambitious goals. By building our brand and contributing to local revitalisation, we can create a win-win situation for everyone involved.”
