A group of over 50 men completed a charity hike to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
Walk 4 Movember was the second annual hike organised by estate and letting agents Heywoods.
The 7km lap around Rudyard Lake raised more than £2,800 for Movember UK while encouraging open conversations about men’s health.
Alistair Trippett, Managing Director of Heywoods Property, headquartered in Newcastle-under-Lyme, said: “Men’s health – both mental and physical – needs more attention, and this walk is about breaking down barriers and getting people talking.
“It’s incredible to see so many people come together for something that matters so much.
“We’re proud to have been a part of an event that not only raises crucial funds but also creates a space for men to share their experiences and seek support.”
The funds raised will support Movember UK’s vital initiatives, from suicide prevention programs to awareness campaigns around prostate and testicular cancer.
Adam Fitzgerald, founder of business coaching service MyMentor, also based in Newcastle, added: “We’ve got 50 people together walking for a common cause, having some great conversations in a shared and trusted environment.
“Getting people together and having a walk in nature has a massive host of benefits, highlighting the importance of having a good support circle and getting the right advice.
“That’s key for anybody that’s facing any psychological distress or any challenge mentally.
“The worst thing you can do is not get any support and advice and try and deal with it yourself. Reaching out to loved ones or trusted professionals is absolutely critical.”
