Businesses in the Staffordshire Moorlands can learn about the support available at a free event this month.
Staffordshire County Council’s rural business pop-up hub – the first to be held in the district – will bring together a range of organisations to demonstrate the opportunities available to entrepreneurs and business owners.
The free event takes place in the Bromfield Room at the Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek on Friday, January 17, from 9am until 12pm. Booking is not required.
Philip White, Staffordshire County Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for economy and skills said: “We’ve brought together a range of organisations that can make a real difference to inspire, support and sustain ambitious entrepreneurs and businesses in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
“The advice available is also of value to anyone thinking of taking their first steps to launch a business in the district.
“Those attending can receive advice on programmes including Succeed and Grow, a fully funded initiative provided by Staffordshire County Council to offer microbusinesses in the countryside expert advice in areas including marketing, law and finance.
“There will also be information on the BCRS Business Loan programme, available to entrepreneurs and organisations in the Moorlands wanting to take their business to the next level with the help of an affordable, unsecured loans from £10,000 to £50,000, through the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Business Loan Fund.”
Other exhibitors at the Foxlowe event include Support Staffordshire, Staffordshire Business and Environment Network (SBEN), the University of Staffordshire and Staffordshire Jobs and Careers Service.
Details of business support information from organisations including Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub, the Federation of Small Businesses and Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, as well as Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, will also be available.
Philip White added: “The rural pop-up hub is a great opportunity to start off the New Year on an inspired footing to achieve business success.
“It’s the first time we have organised this type of event in the Staffordshire Moorlands and there will be something there for everyone interested in business in the district.”
