A children’s mindfulness and mindset teacher is preparing to travel to Kenya to share life-changing techniques with children in need.
Cheadle-based Claire Rushton-Plant, who runs MiniMe Mindfulness Staffordshire and Derbyshire, is planning the trip to introduce mindfulness practices and positive mindset strategies to young learners, providing them with tools to build resilience and emotional well-being.
Claire has spent years teaching children how to harness the power of their minds through techniques such as breathing exercises, guided visualisations and learning about their internal superpowers.
She said: “I have seen firsthand how mindfulness can transform a child’s ability to manage stress, focus and develop a positive self-image.
“I’m thrilled to share these tools with children in Kenya, where challenges like poverty and limited access to mental health resources often take a toll on their emotional well-being.”
In Kenya, Claire will conduct workshops for children from the age of three, teaching simple, engaging practices tailored to their age group.
The program also includes sessions for local teachers, empowering them to integrate mindfulness into their classrooms long after the visit.
The initiative is being funded through Go Fund Me, in conjunction with Port Vale FC’s Community Trust, with a portion of the funds dedicated to providing resources such as journals, books for their library and training materials for the Kenyan school.
