A national flooring retailer has praised a town’s vibrancy after pumping £200,000 into opening its first Staffordshire store there.
Flooring Superstore has chosen Cannock as the place for its 44th national store as part of an expansion programme being carried out.
The 4,000 sq ft store on the Orbital Retail Park, once occupied by Middletons Mobility, has been described as ‘perfect’ by the retailer.
Its opening has created three jobs.
Flooring Superstore Regional Manager Simon Forrester said: “We are delighted to have been able to open our first store in Staffordshire and particularly in such a vibrant and growing retail area as Cannock.”
The 123,000 sq ft Orbital Retail Park – also home to brands including M&S, Boots, Pets at Home and Aldi – was recently acquired for £27 million by British Land.
Simon added: “The recent acquisition of Orbital Retail Park by British Land, combined with the £20 million redevelopment of Cannock town centre are all major positives, so the site is perfect for us.”
Flooring Superstore was established in 2012 as an online business and is now one of the leading flooring retailers in the UK.
The new Cannock store, which opened earlier this month, has a wide range of flooring including carpets, vinyl and artificial grass.
Staff use augmented reality (AR) tools to help customers visualise what flooring may look like in their homes before they make a purchase.
