New podcast series shines light on Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire entrepreneurs

1 min read

A new podcast series featuring interviews with local entrepreneurs aims to explore how Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire have shaped their businesses and their character.

Seven episodes of The Knot Pod have been released on all podcast streaming platforms, as well as full length video episodes on YouTube.

Filmed and recorded at Dissident’s studio in Stone, each episode sees James Routledge, founder of local positive news platform The Knot, speaking to creatives, entrepreneurs and leaders about their journey.

Interviewees include Beth Warren of The Wandering Bee, Lunar’s Craig Wilkinson, founder of Confidence Live Kirsty Hulse, Daniel Moore of Dissident and founder of MARA Run Club George Bettany.

James said: “I want to inspire, shine a light on and raise up the amazing people around here. I lacked creative and entrepreneurial role models growing up in Stoke-on-Trent and I want to change that.

“People from this area are notoriously bad at self-promotion – but that’s because we need to give people more opportunities to shine, and this is one of them.

“There are just so many amazing people here. I’m constantly surprised by who I meet and how successful they are, and I think others will be surprised too.”
