A pop-up bookshop will open in Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre tomorrow in a residency marking World Book Day and International Women’s Day.

Drop City Books is bringing its indie bookshop to town as its shop in Hanley undergoes repairs.

And it will be running its biggest-ever give away alongside a host of events to mark the two special days being celebrated next week.

Children can swap their World Book Day voucher for a choice of funny, weird, and exciting titles for readers aged three to 12 while women can claim a free mystery book in celebration of International Women’s Day thanks to a partnership with Newcastle-under-Lyme BID.

Drop City Books owner, Ruth Wallbank, said: “We’re excited to be in Newcastle to fill the-winter-that-simply-will-not-end with books, conversations and straight up vibes. This pop-up is for curious people to find good books and making reading feel exciting and accessible to everyone.”
