A former corporate sales specialist who reevaluated her life after having a second child is now working to introduce wellness to sedentary workers – with rage walks offering a release from stressful jobs.

Evelyn Howe worked up a career in sales for companies including Vodafone and BT before she became a full-time mum and someone close to her received a shock health diagnosis leading her to retrain in life coaching.

Now her latest venture, Stride Revive, which follows graduating from the Peter Coates Masters in Entrepreneurship at University of Staffordshire, offers team wellness solutions and customised programmes designed to enhance productivity, energy, and purpose both in and out of the workplace.

The walking-based business sets out to educate people about the healing benefits walking can have physically, emotionally and mentally.

Among the offerings are rage walks, where people are encouraged to ‘let it all out’ through guided activities followed by a grounding group walk that ends with reflection and mindfulness.

Evelyn, who is based in Great Haywood, said: “Working in sales for many years meant I was a people person. Lockdown came and it was the scariest time of my life – like it was for many others – but I found my healing in nature and began to learn different coping techniques.

“Stride evolved from that mixture as I thought about how much better my mindset would have been when I was the in corporate world if I knew those techniques.”

She added: “I feel like everything has lined up for me to focus my work on helping others.

“Not only can it make a difference to absence rates and productivity in the workplace, but it can also change peoples’ lives.”

Evelyn has already worked with companies including Protectapet and Morgan Sindall Infrastructure ’s Magnor Plant team.

At Morgan Sindall, she helped with their annual wellbeing programme and devised an initiative approach that included daily challenges, brisk walking routines, hydration tips and nutritional guidance.

Alongside the bespoke programme, Evelyn helped to raise more than £3,000 for Cancer Research UK

Evelyn, who sits on the board of The Teapot Factory CIC, said: “Everyone embraced the programme, worked collectively towards similar goals and really put their all into it.

“My approach emphasises mastering mindset and resilience, as well as fostering both physical and mental well-being, resulting in dynamic, goal-oriented outcomes.

“At the end of the initiative, not only had the wellbeing and lifestyles of those involved improved it had also brought them closer as a team due to the social connections made outside of the standard workplace environment.”

Jonathan Hall, Plant and Transport Director for Magnor Plant said: “The team wholeheartedly embraced the wellbeing programme from the very start, striving to improve their habits whilst raising funds for an important cause.

“Throughout the two-week programme, everyone was fully engaged, sharing their progress and encouraging one another through a dedicated WhatsApp group.

“This programme truly fostered team spirit and motivation.”
