Businesses in the hospitality, leisure and retail industries can pick up tips on growth, customer service, digital transformation and future trends at a free event being held later this month.
The Big Retail and Hospitality Summit being staged at Alton Towers Resort on 25 March will bring together industry specialists and local experts to share advice and give guidance.
It has been organised by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce for businesses across the Staffordshire Moorlands and wider region.
The Retail Champion Claire Bailey, a retail and customer service expert, will be the keynote speaker providing the latest insights on consumer trends, shopper behaviour, and how businesses can adapt to meet the evolving needs of their customers.
Newcastle-under-Lyme-based Customer Experience Director Ian Kelsall, who covers Staffordshire and South Cheshire for customer experience specialists insight6, will also be speaking on the day.
He told Daily Focus: “We know that the hospitality industry is under huge amounts of pressure and that people are looking at ways to survive or thrive depending on where they are in the market.
“We know that they can’t necessarily put their prices up to cover all the cost pressures so thinking about how they can improve service and grow the customer experience is really important.”
Ian added: “Our research suggests that 14 per cent of customers are price sensitive, but 67 per cent of customers are service sensitive. We believe if you focus on better experiences rather than just being the cheapest then you will succeed.”
Other speakers include Charlotte Cain, Visitor Economy Partnership Development Manager, who will provide the latest updates from the Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) in Staffordshire.
And the summit will also feature an interactive panel discussion with hospitality and retail experts from across the county, including Craig Wilkinson from Lunar, in Barlaston, providing delegates with the opportunity to directly address their specific business challenges.
The event, which takes place between 9am and 1pm, is funded by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
