A family business which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year is set for further growth after relocating to a larger headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent.
Central Glass and Windows has moved from Broom Street in Hanley to the nearby Metro Business Park, off Clough Street, more than doubling the size of its premises and creating room for expansion.
The new 8,000 sq ft facility provides greater storage capacity for aluminium, allowing for a faster turnaround when materials need to be cut to shape and size on the company’s CNC machines.
Founded in 2010 by father and son David and Gareth Dunn and their business partners Dean Simpson and Adrian Mellor, Central Glass and Windows now employs 25 people, including eight members of the Dunn family, with Gareth’s two sisters, his son, niece, and nephew also part of the team
Managing Director Gareth Dunn said: “We were bursting at the seams at Broom Street and the move allows us more space to grow, with the bonus of adding in better facilities for our current team.
“Our policy has always been to grow steadily. This has served us well and we will continue to move forward, taking on additional work and adding in new staff as we go.
“As we have been able to grow our workforce, I am now able to focus more of my time on business planning to ensure further future growth.”
The company works on large contracts across the country, fabricating aluminium window frames in-house and providing both aluminium and uPVC windows to clients including schools, councils, car showrooms, retail, and leisure premises.
The firm also operates in the domestic market, fitting uPVC and aluminium windows and working with architects on new build and renovation projects. It also offers a 24/7 call service for commercial clients.
