Butcher scoops another top award to its collection of accolades

A North Staffordshire butcher has credited its local community for helping it to pick up another top award.

Perrys of Eccleshall was announced as top butcher in the Farm Shop & Deli Retailer Awards 2025

The scheme recognises the highest levels of service, product knowledge, initiative, innovation and community involvement with entries received from around the country.

The Stafford Street shop, in Eccleshall, was up against seven other finalists hoping to win the title, and the accolade comes on the back of a number of other award wins in recent years.

Ben Deakin, Sales and Marketing Manager, told Daily Focus: “This award represents our continued success, following on from similar award wins including the Best Butcher in Britain award from the Countryside Alliance

“What makes us stand out is our locally-sourced produce and support from the local community.

“Most of our produce comes from within five miles of the shop and is served in many local establishments.

“The community came together to help us out with this award and it is an accolade for them as much as it is for us.”

Abbots Bromley-based The Cheese Locker was shortlisted in the Other Specialist Retailer category of the same awards but missed out on taking the title.

Meanwhile, Fordhall Farm Shop, just over the Staffordshire/Shropshire border near Market Drayton, was declared best online retailer in the same scheme.
