Old but gold: Antique centre reopens with a new focus

1 min read

An antiques centre founded over 30 years ago has reopened to the public – with a focus on buying gold.

Staffing issues meant that Potteries Antique Centre, in Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, had to shut in June last year, but the hurdle has now been overcome and the team are keen to welcome customers back.

They say their aim is to offer a personal service where customers receive an instant valuation and immediate payment.

Owner Bill Buckley, who founded the centre, said: “Since 1991, we’ve built a solid name by offering honest, fair prices.

“With gold prices at an all-time high, we’re placing a real focus on gold buying. It’s an excellent time for people to consider selling.”

Bill started out in his father’s business before opening his first premises in Basford at the age of 19. He is also a senior valuer at Silverdale-based Potteries Auctions.

Customers are encouraged to take their gold, silver, jewellery, coins, medals, militaria, antiques, and other valuables to the Waterloo Road business for a no-obligation valuation between 10am and 2pm Monday to Saturday.
