A new care home group which has chosen Lichfield as a base for one of its first homes estimates it will have created 65 local jobs by the time it opens later this month.

Stowe Mount is Crystal Care Collection’s second purpose-built, environmentally friendly care home.

Its team of professionals will use the latest technology to provide residential and dementia care for up to 66 older people.

The home has recruited 36 people so far with the team expected to grow as occupancy levels increase.

Vacancies currently being advertised include one for an activities assistant and a night care manager.

Stowe Mount’s Home Manager, Cathy Coulson, said: “Our core values at Stowe Mount are compassion, clarity, and community. We’re building a place where residents are cared for with dignity and respect, and where everyone feels welcome.

“We’d like to thank the Lichfield community for their support so far, and we look forward to fostering strong local relationships and making a positive and lasting contribution to the area.”

The home promises state-of-the-art facilities for its residents, including a hair salon, landscaped gardens, a sweet shop and an on-site cinema.

Through use of solar panels and ground source heat pump technology, the home can be operated as a Carbon Free Green home, promoting sustainability and eco-friendly standards.

Stowe Mount will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, 31 May with an event inspired by The Greatest Showman. Free entertainment – including performances by a local school choir and circus entertainer Andrew Van Buren – will run from 11am until 3pm.

Crystal Care Collection’s other care home is set to open near Clitheroe, in Lancashire, soon.
