A Tamworth mum of three has turned her personal experience into a new coaching business to support parents of children with special educational needs.
Stacy Anderson, founder of Parenting with Confidence, is set to launch her first group coaching programme this month, offering workshops and support for parents looking to navigate the often isolating world of SEN parenting.
Her business aims to offer parents tools to trust their instincts, build confidence and find community while embracing progress over perfection.
It has come together thanks to help from Staffordshire County Council’s business support schemes.
Stacy said: “I am a parent of three boys, two of whom are neurodivergent, and I understand the challenges, the isolation and the self-doubt that can come with a diagnosis. Through my own journey of growth and resilience, I have learned to be a voice for my children and lead by example.
“Now I am here to help other parents do the same – finding their inner strength, embracing their role as advocates and ensuring their children are seen, heard and supported.”
Stacy began her business journey through the Women in Business programme, a four-week initiative from Staffordshire County Council that offers expert advice and connects women with similar aspirations. From there, she accessed further support through the Get Started and Grow scheme, working with a marketing expert and receiving tailored coaching to bring her vision to life.
Anthony Hodge, the county council’s Assistant Director for Business and Enterprise, said: “Free advice and guidance in areas from finance to digital marketing is available and will be tailored to the business’s needs. It can be a daunting prospect pursuing an ambition to start a new business with the many challenges that come with it, but our expert teams are on hand now to make those initial months and years more manageable.
“We’re pleased to see it having an impact with Stacy’s business. We’re committed to provide the right environment for small businesses to thrive, particularly in the first few years.”
The Get Started and Grow programme, run by industry experts NextGen and funded by the county council, supports businesses up to five years old across Staffordshire (excluding Stoke-on-Trent). It covers everything from HR and legal advice to social media, branding and website development. Established businesses can also access further support through the Succeed and Grow scheme.
Kathryn Hyde, of NextGen, said: “It’s been great to see how stacking the different programmes available has brought Stacy on a journey from concept to launch.”
