QTT snapped up by firm planning to further boost skills

A Lichfield-based training provider has been acquired by a labour supply company.

Hercules has purchased the business and assets of Quality Transport Training (QTT), which provides vocational training throughout the UK, to expand the capacity of its Hercules Training Academy in Nuneaton.

QTT, on Britannia Enterprise Park, was founded in 2007 and provides vocational training helping people to gain skills needed by local employers.

All seven members of staff are being kept on and will transfer to the Hercules Academy where they will help expand significantly the number of courses available and broaden the curriculum of the academy.

David Vaughan, Managing Director of QTT, said: “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built at QTT over the years, and joining forces with Hercules PLC marks an exciting new chapter in our journey.

“Hercules’ strong reputation, resources, and shared commitment to quality and innovation make them the ideal partner to take our business to the next level.

“We’re confident this acquisition will bring tremendous opportunities for our team and our clients, and we look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the Hercules Group.”

The Hercules Academy has trained more than 1,500 individuals since it was launched in January 2024.

The addition of the QTT team and the integration of QTT’s assets means the company will be able to scale its training operations more quickly to support the UK’s growing infrastructure project pipeline with a skilled, job-ready workforce.

This is an important step as the Construction Industry Training Board projects that the UK will need nearly 225,000 additional construction workers by 2027.

Brusk Korkmaz, Chief Executive Officer of Hercules, said: “The Hercules Academy was established to address the well documented skills shortages facing the infrastructure and construction sectors.

“QTT’s expertise in vocational training will, in particular, add to the fantastic work already being done by the Academy team. This is another important step for Hercules to become one of the UK’s leading providers of skilled labour and training for the infrastructure and construction sectors.”
