A popular Staffordshire pottery painting café is opening a second store at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands tomorrow.
Pretty Pots, which has built a loyal following at its Milford base over the past eight years, will launch its new Cannock site on Tuesday, 29 July, in the former Sportslocker unit.
The expansion has led to the creation of 10 new jobs, bringing the total number of staff across both sites to 25.
Owner Sophie Kolakovic said: “This feels like a natural next step for us. We’ve built a big customer base in the Cannock area and when the opportunity came up, it just made sense to go for it.”
Pretty Pots began in Penkridge in 2016 before moving to Milford the following year, growing steadily from a small team and gaining momentum particularly after the pandemic. The business adapted during lockdowns by offering takeaway pottery painting kits, and has since gone from strength to strength.
The new store will be open for an initial six-month period, taking Pretty Pots through the busy Christmas season into January.
Sophie said: “We’ll be offering everything people love about Pretty Pots. We’ve built our brand on great customer service and creating a positive, welcoming environment, and we’re excited to bring that to a new audience.”
The new Cannock branch will initially serve mocktails, with an alcohol licence application in progress. Evening bookings at the outlet site are already proving popular, with customers able to book online for both venues.
Sophie said: “People are looking for something different to do with friends these days, something more creative and mindful. People are doing pottery painting instead of clubbing – it blows my mind really.”
Pretty Pots is also in talks with several well-known brands at the outlet village about hosting creative events and collaborations in the months ahead.
The Cannock store will open until 9pm Tuesdays to Saturdays and until 6.30pm on Sundays. Bookings can be made here.
