Employers have been invited to a free networking event to learn more about local creative talent as part of ‘The Best Summer Job Ever’ internship programme.
‘The Best Networking Event Ever!’ will give employers the chance to meet some of the interns taking part in the programme which offers paid placements to students and young people from across Staffordshire.
Nineteen interns are part-way through a four-week placement with top Stoke-on-Trent-based agencies The Challenger Academy (formerly VCCP’s Stoke Academy), Lesniak Swann, and i-creation.
The networking event takes place on Friday, 1 August between 5pm and 7pm at the QUARTER at Potbank, in Stoke.
There will be the opportunity to see the interns’ creative work, hear from participating businesses and connect with local creatives and agencies.
Naomi Baxter, Schools Outreach and Programmes Manager at The Challenger Academy, said: “We want to make sure that the interns feel empowered to get a job in the creative industry at the end of the programme.
“This event is a great way for them to develop their networking skills and confidence and make important connections, whilst also providing local businesses with the benefits of meeting local talent and providing opportunities for their talent pipeline.”
