Staffordshire businesses are being invited to take part in a series of free, face-to-face skills workshops, launched to celebrate ten years of the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards.
The sessions, which will begin after the awards ceremony, are being offered as a thank-you to the local business community and aim to help employers strengthen and retain their teams in a competitive market.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to Staffordshire-based businesses looking to build long-term workforce development plans.
Delivered by Principal Training Consultant Mark Jones, the workshops will explore practical ways businesses can boost staff engagement, tackle skills gaps, and build long-term resilience through tailored development, in areas such as compliance, leadership, inclusivity, sales and customer service.
Sessions will take place at Commerce House in Festival Park, or can be delivered on-site at the businesses themselves.
Mark brings more than 35 years of experience across professional sport, management consultancy, and organisational change. A former professional footballer with clubs including Stoke City and Burton Albion, he has since led major leadership and performance programmes across sectors including finance, tech and media.
Mark said: “We want to support our local business community by helping them build skilled, resilient, and motivated teams.
“Our flexible platform allows every business to develop staff, while still meeting specific industry requirements. It’s fantastic value for money, offering a full year’s training for only 25% of the typical development spend.”
As part of the new offer, businesses will also be able to shape the themes covered in each workshop by identifying the challenges and priorities they’d like addressed, from leadership and change to wellbeing, retention, or communication.
The initiative is designed to introduce businesses to the wider Staffordshire Chambers training programme, which includes expert-led courses in leadership, HR, sales, marketing, and health and safety. Businesses can use the sessions to build a bespoke training roadmap for their team.
