Support from businesses is needed to help make a high-energy fundraising challenge a success.
YMCA North Staffordshire is calling on local businesses and organisations to get involved with the YMCA Spinraiser 100-Mile Challenge.
The event on Thursday, 25 July is looking for five businesses to sponsor two representatives – whether staff, leadership of volunteers – to help power a team effort to ride 100km in just 60 minutes on spin bikes.
Danny Flynn, CEO of YMCA North Staffordshire, said: “This isn’t just another sponsorship — it’s a chance to show what community leadership really looks like.
“By sponsoring two riders, each business becomes part of something bigger — it’s not just about fitness, it’s about real impact.”
The event is a triple celebration – the opening of YMCA’s brand-new Youth Hub, the launch of new supported accommodation units, and the centenary of Stoke-on-Trent.
Every mile cycled and every pound raised will go directly toward supporting disadvantaged young people and local communities – helping them live safe, independent and thriving lives.
Participating businesses will receive:
- Brand recognition before, during and after the event
- Featured promotion across YMCA’s digital and social channels
- A visible demonstration of corporate social responsibility
- A chance to connect with other community-driven organisations.
Willmott Dixon has already signed up.
Jessica Greig, from the construction company, said: “Willmott Dixon are delighted to be taking part in the Spinraiser Challenge.
“It’s a cause close to our hearts as we have developed a fantastic relationship with YMCA North Staffs during our time here in Stoke building the new Student Village and we are very much looking forward to a bit of friendly competition with other local businesses on who can cycle their 20 km first.”
The event takes place at YMCA North Staffordshire’s headquarters in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. 1970’s fancy dress is encouraged.
