Businesses urged to back Potters ’Arf Marathon as it celebrates 20th anniversary

Members of the local business community are being urged to support the 20th anniversary Potters ’Arf Marathon, with opportunities to sponsor, donate or get involved.

The iconic half marathon, which returns on Sunday 28 September, attracts thousands of runners, walkers and volunteers to Stoke-on-Trent each year.

And organisers hope it will bring a welcome boost to local businesses along the route and in the city centre.

Graham Smith, Potters ‘Arf Race Director, said: “As so many of you know, the Potter’s Arf is more than a race, it’s a day where the whole community comes together, spirits are lifted, and the city shines.

“We need your help to make the 20th anniversary our most memorable yet. If you’re a business or individual that can support and be part of something truly special, we’d love to connect!”

Since its launch in 2005, the Potters ’Arf has drawn in everyone from first-time fun runners to seasoned athletes.

Last year, a record 2,500 participants took part, and early signs suggest that next year’s anniversary race will be even bigger.

But organisers say it’s the business community that could make the difference as the event looks ahead to the next 20 years.

The half marathon is known for its challenging course, including the infamous “Heartbreak Hill”, and the electric atmosphere created by supporters lining the streets before the finish in Hanley.

Sponsorship and partnership opportunities are now open, offering businesses the chance to showcase themselves at one of the city’s best-loved events. To discuss partnership opportunities, please email info@potters-arf.co.uk

Teams can also sign up to take part together, or get involved through volunteering.
