Entries have opened for this year’s awards scheme recognising businesses in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The LoveNUL Business Awards scheme – organised by Newcastle-under-Lyme Business Improvement District (BID) – is returning for a third year.
Businesses and the public are being encouraged to champion their favourites across 11 categories celebrating the best in industries including hospitality and professional services.
An independent judging panel will then review every nomination and create a shortlist for each category, which will then go to a public vote next month.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony held at the NSCG Performing Arts Centre on Friday, 10 October.
The categories are:
- Independent Business of the Year
- New Business of the Year
- Hospitality Business of the Year
- Professional Services of the Year
- Market/Trader of the Year
- Customer Service of the Year
- Visitor Attraction of the Year
- Community Project of the Year
- Spirit of Newcastle-under-Lyme – Business
- Spirit of Newcastle-under-Lyme – Person
- Lifetime Achievement Award
Jane Tunnicliff, Newcastle-under-Lyme BID co-chair, said: “Recognising local achievement is vital to building pride and a stronger business community. The LoveNUL Business Awards are a brilliant way to acknowledge the hard work happening every day, while bringing people together to connect and celebrate.
“This year also offers a first look at the BID’s 2026–2031 business plan, shaped by what we’ve heard from BID businesses, so the night is both a celebration and a launchpad for the next five years.”
Charlotte Pearce, Newcastle-under-Lyme BID Manager, added: “As we head into the third year of the LoveNUL Business Awards, the enthusiasm from businesses and the wider community just keeps growing. Our town is packed with great people doing great things and this night is a highlight of the BID calendar because it lets us showcase and celebrate them together.”
Last year’s event brought together more than 180 local businesses and partners, with thousands of public votes cast.
This year’s event is headline sponsored by IronMarket Wealth, with additional support from Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Doulton Water Filters, KMF Group, New Vic Theatre, and Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG).
Nominations can be made via this link.
Public voting will begin on Friday, 19 September.
