Businesses across Stoke-on-Trent are being encouraged to get involved in a video project marking the city’s 100th birthday – by picking up their phones and sharing what they love about the city.
The Love Stoke 100 project, which is managed by Framescape and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, invites people of all ages to submit short films about what makes the city special to them.
Now organisers are particularly keen to get local businesses involved, to showcase their heritage, their people or their place in the wider Stoke-on-Trent story.
Michael McDonald, business development director at Inspired Film and Video and part of the project team, said: “This is an opportunity to celebrate Stoke-on-Trent through the medium of film. It’s not about high production values – it’s about the heart and the content, and it is open to everybody.”
Films don’t need to be professionally shot and can be up to three minutes long. Submissions, which should be filmed in landscape orientation, are open until November 1, 2025.
Organisers want businesses to take the opportunity to shout about what they are doing.
Michael added: “There are so many unsung businesses doing amazing things in the city, and this is a chance for them to be recognised. If you’re doing something in Stoke-on-Trent and you don’t feel it’s being seen, this is your moment.”
