Stoke to come alive with new music festival

1 min read

Local artists and a silent disco are the highlights of a new family summer music festival taking place across Stoke town this weekend.

Stoke Town Music Festival has been organised by popular venue the Quarter and will be staged on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 August.

Local bands playing the Quarter, based on the Spode site, on the opening day are Adele and Andy, The Hairy Bartenders, Sounds Familiar and KMK. The restaurant will then hold a family silent disco on Bank Holiday Monday with a visit from the popular Disney character Stitch.

Disney will also be theme of a free family singalong event at Stoke Minster on Monday, which will be followed by a show choir performance.

The Hairy Bartenders will be playing at Spode-based the Quarter as part of the Stoke Town Music Festival.

The Glebe pub will hold its third annual pirate day on Sunday. There’s free entry to attractions including live music, staffs, a BBQ and family fun between 1pm and 1am.

And The King’s Way pub will host live music from Dan Eyden between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

The music festival follows the launch of the Quarter’s Outdoor Live events earlier this year, both thanks to the Stoke High Street Accelerator pilot, which is funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Annmarie Bailey, co-owner of the Quarter, said: “We really wanted to bring a huge celebration to our historic town and by working with other neighbouring venues we are able to do this.

“Stoke has a great community vibe and this festival will be something in which everyone can enjoy.”

More information about the festival is available via the Quarter’s website
