Businesses invited to make nominations for 2025 Beacon Awards

Nominations are now open for an awards scheme celebrating the achievements of businesses, charities and community organisations across Lichfield District. 

The Beacon Awards are returning for a third year with 11 categories to enter. 

Nominations are open to the public and businesses are also able to put themselves forward. 

The categories are: 

  • New Business of the Year 
  • Small Business of the Year (under 50 employees) 
  • Large Business of the Year (over 50 employees) 
  • Charity or Social Enterprise of the Year 
  • Customer Service Award 
  • Community Impact Award 
  • Partnership Award 
  • Sustainable Business Award 
  • Tourism & Hospitality Award 
  • Logistics & Transport Award 
  • Community Hero Award 

Last year’s event saw Lichfield Garrick Theatre retain the title of Best Large Business while Richard Winterton Auctioneers took the Best Small Business Crown. Lichfield Cathedral won the Tourism Business Award and The George Hotel was named best in the hospitality sector. 

Nominations for this year’s awards, organised by Lichfield District Council, close on 10 October. 

The winners will be announced at a ceremony held at the National Memorial Arboretum, in Alrewas, on Thursday, 27 November. 

Councillor Richard Holland, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for High Street and Economic Development, said: “The Beacon Awards is a fantastic event and a great opportunity to put the spotlight on outstanding businesses from across the district. Please let us know who deserves to be applauded by sending us your nominations.”
