Popeyes UK announces opening date for new Stoke-on-Trent restaurant which has created 70 jobs

Seventy jobs have been created by fast food chain Popeyes UK as it prepares to open its first Staffordshire restaurant.

The former Pizza Hut site at Festival Park, in Stoke-on-Trent, will open as a Popeyes at 11am on Friday, 26 September.

And the brand says it will be ‘pulling out all the stops’ to showcase New Orleans hospitality with ‘epic’ launch day giveaways.

The restaurant is the 36th Popeyes venue to open this year and other launches have attracted round-the-block queues.

A spokesperson said: “We’re looking forward to opening our very first Popeyes in Staffordshire, located at the popular Festival Retail Park in Stoke-on-Trent.

“It’s a fantastic location and we’re excited to introduce our famous Louisiana chicken and New Orleans hospitality to the local community for the first time.”

All the chicken at Popeyes is marinated for 12 hours in a signature blend of bold Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered to deliver a ‘world-famous shatter-crunch’.

The first three customers on the opening day will win free chicken sandwiches for a year while the first 50 customers in the queue will receive exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise. The first 100 people will bag a free chicken sandwich.

The restaurant’s menu features the likes of wings, chicken sandwiches, wraps and chicken boxes.

Breakfast will also be served between 8am and 10am.
