A Stoke-on-Trent engineering firm – whose clients include a number of Royal residences – has had its strongest year since it was founded almost 40 years ago, investing around half a million pounds and creating 20 new jobs.
Fenton-based Patera Engineering Ltd, which specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke steel fabrications, has also secured record orders and is set to hit its planned £10 million turnover within the next three years.
Ten of the new vacancies, which include project managers, draughtspersons, fabricator welders, site installers and apprentices, have already been filled, with 10 more still open to applications.
In the past 12 months, the family-run business, which was founded in 1988, has delivered projects for clients including AstraZeneca, Ministry Of Defencce, The Daubeny Project, Rosalind Franklin Building, 105 Victoria Street, Everton FC’s new stadium, Gatwick Airport, 1 Exchange Square, Vulcan 20-20 and Norfolk House.
Other high-profile clients include Volkswagen, London City Airport, Chelsea FC, bet365, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the University of Cambridge, Stoke City FC and even Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and St James’ Palace.
Managing Director Shaun Lees said: “This year has underlined exactly why Patera is a sector leader. Contractors know that when they appoint us, they eliminate uncertainty.
“Our professional, personable approach, backed with an outstanding track record built over 37 years, means fewer risks, fewer delays and results that exceed expectations every time.”
Patera has also invested in new plant and vehicles, as well as an off-site assembly facility next to its headquarters on City Park Trading Estate. The business, which was founded in 1988, offers a ‘one-stop shop’ from design through to fabrication and installation.
Director Callum Lees added: “We bring everything together – design, manufacture and installation – with absolute reliability. That’s why we’re trusted with projects at all levels of the construction industry from residential properties to prestigious corporate structures.”
