North Staffs Mind seeks business support for Mental Elf 5k fundraiser at The Trentham Estate

Businesses have been asked to support a unique annual Christmas fundraising initiative by North Staffs Mind

Mental Elf is a 5km fun run at The Trentham Estate taking place on Sunday, 7 December.

The non-competitive event is open to all ages and abilities and aims to bring people together to fundraise and raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

Last year 367 people took part, raising £9,173 for the good cause.

Businesses are being encouraged to enter teams to take part, but there are also a limited number of sponsorship packages available to companies who can offer extra support to the event in return for promotional benefits.

Dan Harrison, Community Engagement Lead at North Staffs Mind, said: “Winter can be a difficult time for many who struggle with their mental health, so we would be delighted if runners also took the opportunity to raise some sponsorship for North Staffs Mind alongside their entry fee.

“We are particularly reaching out to local businesses to enter teams to help us raise the profile of our event. There are still some business sponsorship opportunities available which include includes free or reduced entry.

The event will start at 1pm and all spectators are free. Christmas fancy dress is encouraged but not compulsory.

All those who take part are guaranteed a quality race medal on passing the finishing line.
