Bakery brand Wrights is investing in a major refresh of all of its 14 retail shops across North Staffordshire.
The company, which is based in Crewe, says the transformation marks the beginning of a new chapter as its gears up to celebrate its 100th birthday next year.
Work has already been carried out at its Leek, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Hanley stores. Those in Wolstanton and Tunstall are also set to be upgraded before the end of the year.
The remaining shops in Longton, Shelton, Northwood, Stoke, Burslem, Fenton, Meir, Kidsgrove and Chell, are scheduled for work next year.
Jason Manley, Brand Director at The Compleat Food Group, home of Wrights, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our roots in Stoke-on-Trent and our long-standing commitment to the local high street. This refresh is about making Wrights the Bakery even more relevant to today’s customers, while continuing to deliver the delicious, high-quality foods that people know and love.
“It’s a particularly exciting time for us as we look ahead to celebrating our centenary year in 2026. This marks just the beginning of what promises to be a fantastic year of celebration.”
The refresh sees Wrights evolve into Wrights the Bakery, with a modern twist on its existing branding. Digital menu screens are being introduced as well as new staff uniforms.
Wrights has not disclosed how much it is investing into its North Staffordshire bakeries, which employ a total of 75 people.
