One of Stoke-on-Trent’s longest-established accountancy firms has been acquired by a larger group, which both companies say will strengthen their ability to support local businesses.
Geens Chartered Accountants has joined bk plus, with its team continuing to operate from their existing office in Fenton, led by directors Karen Staley, Dean Clacher, Carl France and Chris Beeston.
Shaun Knight, CEO of bk plus, said: “Geens has a fantastic reputation built over many decades and their team brings real strength to our business.
“By joining forces with bk plus, Geens clients will now have access to a wider range of services than ever before. For bk plus clients, this means enhanced support in areas such as probate and estate administration bringing added depth to the advice and care we provide.
“Having an even stronger presence in Stoke shows our commitment to supporting local businesses and individuals across Staffordshire.”
Karen Staley, director at Geens Chartered Accountants, which was founded more than 140 years ago, added: “We chose to join bk plus because they share our values. They believe in local service, personal relationships and genuine support for business owners.
This move allows us to continue operating exactly as we do now with the same team, the same faces and the same commitment to our clients, while gaining access to wider expertise when needed.
It is a positive step forward for both our clients and our people.”
bk plus now has more than 30 offices across the UK including in Hanley and Biddulph in North Staffordshire.
