Portmeirion Group makes strategic hires

Global homewares group Portmeirion has appointed a new director as it continues to drive business transformation and strengthen its existing portfolio. 

Former Le Creuset group commercial director and regional CEO Michael Scheepers has stepped into the role of Portmeirion’s group brand and commercial director. 

Michael has been tasked with leading the group’s global ecommerce, own retail and brand marketing teams and will also have responsibility for the UK sales division. He will report into Group CEO, Mike Raybould, as part of a refreshed senior leadership team at the Stoke-on-Trent-based company. 

His appointment follows the recent hire of ex-Emma Bridgewater product and range director Victoria Brabender as Portmeirion’s first ever product strategy director, as well as the internal promotion of Sam Pearce as chief operating officer. 

Sam replaces the group’s global operations director Mick Knapper, who will retire next year after 27 years’ service.
