Solmar Villas has been recognised as one of the UK’s leading travel companies, collecting nine accolades at the British Travel Awards (BTA).
The company based in Burton upon Trent won six gold and three silver awards at a ceremony in London last week.
Awards are based on consumer votes, with more than 420,000 people casting 1.6 million votes, making the BTAs the UK’s largest public endorsement of travel providers.
General manager Sharon Bradbury said: “We are thrilled to have had such phenomenal success at this year’s British Travel Awards and want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted and everyone across the business who made this possible.
“I am so proud of our team for making this happen; since the passing of our CEO earlier this year, we have worked harder than ever to honour the legacy that Julie and her family created when they established the Solmar Villas brand more than 30 years ago.”
She added: “The future is bright and we have exciting developments in the pipeline. We recently unveiled a new website with flight package booking ability, and we are about to return to TV with a new advert fronted by our celebrity brand ambassador, Will Mellor.
“New collections are coming for 2026 in destinations including Paxos in Greece and Almeria in Spain, and we are all committed to delivering exceptional villa holidays that continue to set us apart from the rest.”
The six gold awards for the best medium sized company were for family holidays, villa holidays, holidays to East/Southeast Europe, holidays to Iberia/Macaronesia, summer sun holidays and winter sun holidays.
Solmar’s silver awards were in the tailor made holidays, holidays to Hellenic Europe and the Favourite Company for TV Advertisements categories.
Solmar Villas has over 2,500 properties across 30 destinations in the Mediterranean and worldwide, all with private swimming pools.
