More than 50 jobs are being created by a discount retailer preparing to open a new branch in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Home Bargains has announced a planned opening date of 13 June for the new store at the former Homebase unit on Brook Lane.
The site is undergoing a full internal and external refurbishment after planning permission was passed in June last year.
Home Bargains has not disclosed how much is being spent the store, but planning documents submitted last year suggested a £3 million investment and the creation or more than 100 full and part time jobs, including those created by the store fit out, merchandising, security and future maintenance.
Team leader and deputy manager roles are currently being advertised, but more are expected to be added soon.
Home Bargains hasn’t commented on the opening of the new store or said anything more about recruitment.
But a spokesperson told Daily Focus: “The new store will feature a garden centre, café and in-store bakery in addition to top-quality branded products at low prices, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.”
