A new skills bootcamp aimed at developing future leaders in the green economy is set to launch this summer.
Keele University’s Future Leadership for the Green Economy programme will run from June to August, offering 60 hours of training across 10 sessions delivered through a hybrid model.
Designed for businesses and individuals looking to strengthen sustainability knowledge, the bootcamp will focus on helping organisations remain competitive, improve efficiency and build resilience in a changing economic landscape.
The course will be delivered by university and industry professionals, with content tailored to local business needs.
Participants will explore emerging sustainability challenges, gain insight into relevant policy and regulation and identify funding opportunities. Each learner will also leave with a practical action plan to implement within their organisation.
The programme is open to SMEs, larger employers and individuals who are self-employed or unemployed. Applicants must be aged over 19, have the right to work in the UK, and be based in Stoke-on-Trent or Staffordshire.
The bootcamp is fully funded for self-employed individuals, unemployed learners and micro businesses with no payroll. SMEs are required to contribute £340, while larger businesses will contribute £1,020.
A spokesperson said: “The programme is designed for organisations at any stage whether you are just starting to explore sustainability or already taking action and looking to go further. If you have any specific business needs in this area you can let us know in order to shape the delivery.”
