Chambers reveals Sustainability & Environment Award finalists for 2026 Business Awards

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce has revealed the finalists for the Sustainability & Environment Award at the 2026 Business Awards.

Sponsored by Capula, the award recognises organisations that can demonstrate a proactive approach to protecting the environment and reducing their carbon footprint, with judges looking for innovative solutions that have delivered measurable impact in energy efficiency, resource management and environmental performance.

Now in its 11th year, the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards is the largest business awards programme in the region. Winners will be crowned at a gala awards ceremony at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Thursday 9 July 2026.

The three finalists are:

Altecnic Ltd – The UK’s leading supplier of hydronic plumbing and heating solutions, Altecnic has invested over £18 million in its BREEAM A-rated Stafford headquarters, powered by a 94 kWp solar array delivering a 91% year-on-year increase in self-produced energy, with zero waste to landfill and seven Carbon Literate staff. Bri-Stor Systems – Converting more than 8,000 light commercial vehicles a year for operators including Network Rail and British Gas, Bri-Stor reduced CO2 by 310,558kg in 2025, recycled 1,376 tonnes of materials, and became the first LCV converter to use full-scale virtual reality prototyping, cutting lead times by 30%. The business is targeting carbon neutrality by 2037. Find out more, here.

Broxap – The Staffordshire street furniture manufacturer has eliminated 30,000 litres of hazardous waste through its proprietary PROTEX coating system, cut energy consumption by a third, reduced VOC emissions by 5 tonnes annually, and operates entirely on renewable energy with zero waste to landfill.
