DJH continues expansion drive with Forbes Dawson acquisition

1 min read

Fast-growing accountancy firm DJH has significantly strengthened its tax offering by acquiring one of the UK’s leading specialist tax practices.

The Stoke-on-Trent-based company has welcomed Forbes Dawson into the group as part of its expansion plans.

It said the new partnership helps future-proof the business, allowing for increased investment in training and recruitment.

DJH CEO Scott Heath said: “Forbes Dawson is not a general practice. It is a dedicated tax practice, a firm built entirely around delivering expert, bespoke tax advice to businesses, entrepreneurs, private clients, and professional advisers.

“The team brings deep specialism in tax across corporate and business, private client, employee incentive arrangements, VAT, property, SDLT, transactional tax work, and tax investigations.”

He continued: “In short, it delivers tax at a level that rivals the ‘big four’ and this acquisition strengthens our offering for clients across the entire group.”

The Forbes Dawson brand will be retained as part of the partnership, and all the senior partners are remaining, leading the 20-strong team at its Altrincham office.

Laura Hutchinson, Joint Managing Partner of Forbes Dawson, said: “We have been very happy as an independent tax practice, setting our own high standards in client care and positioning ourselves as true tax specialists.

“However, we wanted to invest in operational support – HR, marketing, business development and technology. This deal gives us just that.”

She concluded: “Having got to know the team at DJH, we have found a firm whose values and culture align with ours.

“We are confident that everything that makes Forbes Dawson what it is will be retained, including the brand, while also benefiting from the resources and support the group brings.”
