A popular Tamworth pub has closed its doors while it undergoes a six-figure refurbishment to refresh its look.
Amington, a Flaming Grill pub which is part of Greene King, shut on Monday with plans to reopen to the public early next month.
The investment includes improvements to the pub’s interior to provide a modern new look with an enhanced bar, vibrant new décor and furniture and a complete refurbishment of the toilets.
Sports enthusiasts will be able to enjoy an elevated sports offering with an improved sports zone and the installation of upgraded TV screens and sound systems throughout showing live matches on Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
Outside, the Amington Road pub will undergo a full refresh with new garden furniture, lighting and signage, improving alfresco dining and drinking moments for guests throughout the year.
General manager Amy Hunt said: “The Amington is a much-loved social hub for the local community here in Tamworth, and we can’t wait to welcome our lovely customers back through the doors next month following a top-to-bottom refurbishment.
“The investment is set to give the pub a new lease of life with a range of modern comforts and an enhanced sports offering, providing guests with a bright and welcoming space that will serve as the perfect spot for people to come together.
“There’s something for everyone here, whether you’re looking to stop in for a quick drink, celebrate a special occasion with loved ones or cheer on your favourite team in our dedicated sports zone. We look forward to showcasing all the Amington has to offer soon!”
