Seven daring individuals from three local companies have raised more than £10,000 for a children’s charity by completing a sky dive.
Representatives from Heywoods, Assurant, and Fast Printed Packaging/FFS Beauty jumped from approximately 13,000 ft in aid of the Peter Pan Centre, headquartered in Newcastle-under-Lyme, which supports children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Their skydive from a base in Tilstock in Shropshire last month have raised £10,000 with donations still coming in.
Claire Addis, fundraising manager at the Peter Pan Centre, said: “Most people don’t realise that we have to charitably fundraise over 85 per cent of our income, which currently amounts to around £380,000 annually.
“We simply couldn’t keep our doors open for local vulnerable families if we didn’t have the incredible support from our local community, whether that be local businesses, schools, sports groups, individuals or grant-making bodies like the National Lottery Community Fund.
“Our skydive makes up part of our annual events programme, and to exceed £10,000 is all down to the hard efforts of these three amazing local companies. We can’t thank them enough.”
