KMC Legal & Finance expands headquarters after hiring spree boosts team

1 min read

A Stafford-based law firm has increased its workforce by more than 60 per cent this year and is on course to triple the size of its office space as part of a major expansion programme.

KMC Legal & Finance has welcomed eight new employees since January across its legal, finance and management departments taking its total headcount to 21 staff.

The business has also taken on more space at its Dunston Farm headquarters, expanding its original office to create a new reception area, private conference room and video-link suite while converting the former reception into additional workspace.

A third barn has been acquired at the site and is being refitted for use by KMC’s bespoke finance department. Once completed, the expansion will mean the company has tripled its office floor space since the start of 2025.

Solicitor advocate Katie McCreat, who founded the company five years ago, described it as an ‘exciting period’ for KMC and said the investment reflects the firm’s growth and its long-term commitment to the area.

She said: “KMC Legal & Finance has grown significantly over the past year, not just in terms of the number of people joining the firm, but in the strength, experience and ambition of the team we are building.

“Our office expansion is a reflection of that growth. We have not moved away from our roots. We have invested further into our existing base because Staffordshire remains central to who we are as a firm.

“The addition of eight new hires this year, including highly experienced solicitors and senior managers, has allowed us to strengthen key areas of client demand and continue developing the level of service our clients expect from us.

“Our aim has always been to build a firm that combines strong legal expertise with a personal, approachable service. As we continue to grow, that remains at the heart of everything we do.”

KMC provides legal services across criminal defence, family law, civil litigation, equine law, personal injury and wider private client support and its client base stretches across the country.
