Eighty jobs are being created at solar panel installer Project Solar as demand for home installations is expected to hit record highs this summer.
The Burton upon Trent-based company said it has seen a sharp rise in enquiries from homeowners looking to reduce their energy bills and improve energy security, with 2026 on course to become its strongest year yet for domestic solar installations.
Most of the new jobs will be in sales and based nationwide.
Managing director Paul Atherton said: “We are still seeing all the hallmarks of a landmark year for solar, and the enquiry volumes we are seeing from new customers confirms that. Homeowners are not waiting around to see what happens with energy prices and supply security.
“Eighty new positions is a significant commitment, but the demand is there and we have an obligation to meet it. This is a direct response to British homeowners choosing to take control of their energy future.
“That is something we are genuinely proud to be part of.”
Project Solar has completed more than 50,000 installations nationwide and is one of the UK’s largest independent solar panel installers.
The company also announced the appointment of Chris Day as Group Managing Director of parent company Project Better Energy, which delivers commercial renewable energy solutions.
Chris said: “The opportunity in front of us, both at Project Better Energy and across the wider group, is significant.
“The commercial sector is at a critical inflection point. Businesses are under increasing pressure to manage energy costs and meet sustainability commitments, and the solutions are there to help them do it.
“Joining at a moment when the group is investing in growth, in people, and in its long-term capability is a fantastic opportunity.”
