The Hubb Foundation calls on local firms to step up for Potters ‘Arf

Kind-hearted local businesspeople are needed to join a team of Stoke-on-Trent charity employees planning to walk the Potters ‘Arf Marathon in aid of The Hubb Foundation.

The charity’s School Relationship Manager Tana Owen, Finance Manager Jo Robinson and Data and Compliance Officer Nausheen Latif have started training for the 13-mile half marathon course around the city on October 4 and are looking for ten business or community representatives to join them.

Tana, who is spokesperson for the team, said: “We have set ourselves the target of raising £2,500 for our first Potters ‘Arf walk, which will enable us to support 100 vulnerable children in a city where 19,000 youngsters are classed as living in ‘absolute poverty’.

“Every school holiday we work with thousands of families to provide free holiday care and experiences and ensure children have a healthy meal each day but there is always more to do. Raising vital funds will ensure we can touch even more lives.”

The Hubb Foundation supports disadvantaged children and families in Stoke-on-Trent through initiatives such as a free-of-charge school holiday scheme, teaching cookery skills, and support with navigating the transition from primary to secondary education.

Anyone interested in being part of the Potters ‘Arf Hubb walking team can contact them at info@thehubbfoundation.org.uk or call 01782 656050.
