Business trio backs Headway North Staffordshire with year of padel sessions

Three companies have teamed up to help people living with acquired brain injury experience the physical and social benefits of padel.

amb Insurance, Sempar Accountancy and Tax and CY Group are funding court sessions at Ace Padel in Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, for members of Headway North Staffordshire, with plans to expand their support later this year.

The Stoke-on-Trent charity is heavily reliant on donations and fundraising, and amb decided to step in to help after meeting with community fundraiser and communications manager Samanatha Holdcroft.

Wolstanton-based amb sponsors a court at Ace Padel, and, after seeing the impact sessions could have, development director Mark Jones drew on his network of friends in business to fund a year of sessions for the charity’s service users.

Samantha said the sessions are giving people the chance to do something they never imagined they’d be able to do again following a brain injury.

She added: “Every session is filled with laughter, determination, new friendships, and incredible achievements. Watching people regain confidence, discover new abilities, and leave with huge smiles on their faces makes us incredibly proud.

“This simply wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of AMB Insurance and the other amazing sponsors, who have given our members a true lifeline by funding 12 months of padel sessions.”

Mark added: “The coaches at Ace Padel are fantastic and you can see how the patients of Headway really enjoy playing padel.

“We would encourage more local support to get involved and keep the fun in fundraising.”
